takin it back to a few Weeknd's ago
clever title right....? No I know it is super corny but I had to do it. So a few weekends ago I got a chance to see The Weeknd for the second time ever of my concert going history. The first time I saw him was in 2015 at the Austin City Limits Festival in Austin, TX. That was when he had the infamous hair when he first started. Unfortunately, there was a woman that was standing in front of me who was superrr tall and I could not really see :/ but I did manage to get a decent photo.

2 years later, I was blessed to snag a ticket to his "Legend Of The Fall: Phase Two Tour at the Honda Center in Anaheim on October 13, 2017. I get to the arena at around 8:30pm and I missed openers Panda and NAV, who I did not really care for. I wanted to see GUCCI MANE!!! lol since I missed his set at Coachella.
Once I got into the arena, I immediately went to the merchandise stand. I did my research before the show of what the merch looked like so I knew exactly what I wanted and what was surprising to me was how many merch stands there were. In case you could not tell, I am a merchandise person. Ever since my first concert, I always get a shirt and a tour book if I can. I will even get a bootleg one if I like how it looks.
There were multiple merch stands and I had to go to two of them because the first one I went to did not have my size in the shirt. After getting merch, I get to my seat and got to see Gucci Mane's set. It seemed like no one really cared to see him but I was in my zone vibin to all of his songs including the throwback "Lemonade" haha. Ths was also the same day he released his new album "Mr. Davis." I was surprised he did not play at least one song from the album and I was more surprised that he did not come out during The Weeknd's set to perform "Curve."
After Gucci, The Weeknd came on shortly after. The stage was fucking insane. The design, the way it moved was out of this world. He opened the show with "Starboy" and the crowd was so hyped. The crowd was so live the whole entire show. It was probably the loudest crowd I have seen in a long time. His set went by surprisingly fast for me. He just went through song after song and what felt like 30 minutes ended up being an hour and a half. Maybe because I got there shortly before since usually I get to concerts really early.
He performed most of his hits from his discography and collaborations that I completely forgot about including "Often," "Or Nah," and "Earned It." He did bring out rapper Belly to perform "Might Not" also. I really wished he performed a"Attention" as it is one of my favorites off of his album "Starboy"
He closed with "The Hills" and it was a great closing song. I left midway through the song in order to beat the traffic coming out of the concert, as I usually do. with all of the concerts I go to. Overall, The Weeknd put on a show-stopping performance and it was probably one of my favorite shows this year. There is a rumor going around that he will be headlining Coachella 2018. If true, I probably will not stay for his whole entire set unless if
he drops a new album.
