Top 5 Top 5 Top 5
As the year comes to a close, I like to reflect on my favorite concerts and festivals that I was lucky enough to attend. From Coachella to Jay-Z, I want to share my top 5 favorite performances that I got to witness this year.
5. H.E.R.- El Rey Theatre, November 25, 2017
Her show at the El Rey Theater was so good as I made a whole entire blog post about it earlier haha. It was her first headlining tour and I cannot wait to see what she brings to her live shows in the future.
4. Kendrick Lamar- Coachella, April 23,2017
He was the last act I saw at Coachella and his show was elaborate and theatrical, which I loved. His interludes and setlist were on point and I am glad I ended the Coachella weekend with his performance. He had no guests for weekend 2 and still put on a great show! I really wanted to see him again at his DAMN tour but it sold out so fast :/
3. Bruno Mars- The Forum, November 11, 2017
If you did not get to see the 24k Magic World Tour this year, you definitely missed out. Bruno put on a show stopping performance and I loved all of the breakdowns that he had in between songs. The band and his crew had so much finesse I couldn't handle it. While he did not perform Gorilla at the show I went to like other shows, he still killed it.
2. Jay-Z - Honda Center, October 27, 2017
His 4:44 tour is on another level. The stage, production and setlist were picked so well and I think this is the most elaborate production I have seen Jay-Z put on by himself. The last time I saw him by himself was his Blueprint 3 tour in 2010. I got togo opening night and it was awesome to see everything first with no spoilers.
1. Frank Ocean - FYF Fest, July 22, 2017
MESMERIZING is all can say about his performance (featuring Brad Pitt) I loved the cinematography and how his performance felt so intimate yet there were thousands watching his performance. His stage setup was simple and his voice was flawless that night. He also performed a brand new song for the crowd which is another plus.
