New Music Sunday
Hope everyone's enjoying their Sunday today. and gearing up for that #workgrind this week. Here s some fresh new music that you might enjoy!
I discovered her through Nick Jonas' Instagram story. In his story, it was a screenshot of her new song "Blue" playing on Spotify and based on his playlist through Tidal, I knew that he had great taste in music. The minute she came in the song, "all I [saw was] blue" The last 0:20 seconds...OH...MAH...GAHH... I could not handle it it was so good. So, I dug deeper into her discography and every.single.track is OH MAH GAH. Zouai gives that old school Aaliyah/90's vibe and I am all for it. Her ballad is "She's Got Away" is perfection and her voice is just so pure. I NEED more Lolo Zouai. I am excited to see what the future holds for her. Listen to "Blue" below:
Sittin in the car with my brother and all of a sudden this dope song comes on. I ask my brother and he tells me it is this guy he found on Soundcloud. 808Louie remixes some well known songs and makes them into these dope instrumentals. I found out that the song was called "GYALANTA" which includes Drake's "Gyalchester." The piano mixed in with it is just tooo fire haha. Other songs that he has remixed include "I Get The Bag" and "Slippery" by Migos. Listen to "GYALANTA" below:
I was scrolling through the popheads subreddit and one user posted her recent performance on The Graham Norton Show. I remember seeing her name on the Coachella poster and I did not get a chance to listen to her music, so I watched the performance. "Strangers" is definitely a bop and I loved how she had so much fun performing on the show. After that performance, "Strangers has been stuck in my head constantly and I am definitely going to check out her set in April. Welp, that is one more conflict for me haha. Looks like I will be bouncing from stage to stage. Watch her electrifying performance of "Strangers" on The Graham Norton Show below:
Janelle Monae posted their album cover on Instagram and I was really intrigued. I believe there was audio with the post but I had it on mute a the time. Later on, I got a chance to listen to their debut album "Running to the Sun" and man is it a beautiful and sultry album. "Caught" "Tides" featuring Deante
Hitchcock and "Not Discuss It" are all so good and standouts for me. Their voices blend so well together. Listen to "Caught" below:
